It’s not just the entrepreneurs on stage who come away inspired to do more. Meaford Dragons is also committed to supporting and encouraging young entrepreneurs. This year, we’ve launched two programs to do just that.

The Future Entrepreneur Program

Individuals and businesses have an opportunity to give a boost to an aspiring entrepreneur. When they buy a block of four Meaford Dragons tickets for $100, the Meaford Chamber of Commerce makes sure they go to students studying business at the Georgian Bay Community School and at Georgian College.

Meaford Dragons Bursary

Four graduating high school students at Georgian Bay Community School will receive funding to help their future careers in business. The first bursary awards $500 to a student going on to post-secondary education in marketing and/or business. Three additional $100 bursaries are given to co-op students in the university, college, and workplace levels. Student Services will determine the winners based on academic performance and other criteria, and the bursaries will be presented at the annual Georgian Bay Community School commencement ceremony in November.
