The Dragon Slayers have met the Dragons and pitched their business proposals.  The Dragon event will be virtual this year but just as entertaining as last year.  We look forward to sharing their on stage journey in December.   Let’s introduce you to the 2020 Slayers:

Adam Harrington – Northern Nutrition Pet Treat & Food Company

Northern Nutrition makes premium-quality pet treats using only the best locally-sourced ingredients.  These include Certified Organic Sweet Potato, Pasture Raised Chicken and Grass Fed Beef.  These ingredients ensure a treat that is tastier, healthier and has a better nutrient profile.  In order to grow their business Adam would like to hire a marketing specialist to assist them to effectively market and grow their business.

Tom Thwaits – Big Canoe Project

Big Canoe Project is a non-profit social enterprise with a goal to get people on the water doing active living and connecting with our community.  They will offer tours, field trips, corporate team-building, fundraising events and day-camps in big canoes which are watercraft suited to all ages, abilities and the big water conditions on Georgian Bay.  With a launch date of spring 2021 Tom has asked the Dragons to help him with marketing costs, website construction and trade conference costs

Sue Bazant – Czech it Out Antiques

Czech it Out is an established business that has beautiful displays of antiques, nostalgic collectibles, vintage items, Toys, dinner ware and a wonderful selection of authentic Indigenous Works of Art.  Bursting at the seams Sue is planning an expansion that will allow easier access to their items and more opportunity to support Indigenous Artist.

Grace Morin – Little Wren Hair Studio

Little Wren Hair Studio will be located in downtown Meaford and Opening December 1st.  With an eye on the environment they will exclusively carrying premium organic and sustainable hair care and styling products that are eco-friendly, cruelty free and refillable.  Grace has asked the Dragons for support in opening this new business.

Emily Veldman and Sara Brown – The Purple Hollow

The Purple Hollow is an agricultural tourism farm specializing in lavender, sunflowers and specialty cut flowers. We offer handmade and culinary goods, bouquets, wholesale flowers and educational tours. We are excited to open our gardens to photographers and visitors to Grey County, complementing the culinary trail. We will be opening to the public in August 2021.
