Back 40 Glamping

Scott, Elizabeth, and Ben McIntosh plan to offer high end camping experiences for guests who wish to combine the serenity and beauty of nature with luxury and style. Beginning in the spring of 2020 on 16th Sideroad, Meaford, their site will include five geodesic dome structures placed in private settings among the trees. Packages will include local shopping excursions; sightseeing tours; and educational and personal interest classes.

Free Spirit Forest and Nature School

Kim and Matt Simpson operate Southern Georgian Bay’s only not-for-profit, Forest School Canada certified program. FNS offers quality outdoor educational and experiential programs by certified OCT Outdoor Educators, ECEs, and Forest School Practitioners for children ages 4-12. They currently operate classes five days a week in Collingwood, a sister program in Wasaga Beach, and one day per week at Memorial Park in Meaford. Their goal is to offer more nature-connection experiences to children throughout the Municipality of Meaford, including a new parent and tot program, Cedars and Saplings.

Pampered Paw Spa

Pampered Paw Spa is located in downtown Meaford and provides express grooming for pets of all sizes and types, with or without mobility challenges. Rebekah Chapman’s team offers personalised services including walk-in nail trimming, with a goal of minimising the stress on your pet. Rebekah’s goal is to add additional equipment and capacity to better serve the community.

Postings K9

Nathan Postings owns PostingsK9, specializing in positive reinforcement dog training, with private one on one sessions as well as group classes, for dogs of all ages. From puppy training to behavioural training and dog-walking, Nathan’s goal is to grow the company by adding more clients and more types of classes.

Silk Family Homestead

Bren and Megan Silk operate a sustainable, small-scale homestead where they grow and sell fruits and vegetables, including heirloom tomatoes, which are available at local restaurants and farmers markets.

Along with their four young children, they strive to build a simple, sustainable life for their family, living without electricity, hand-pumping their water, and growing food using traditional, small-scale, human-powered practices. Their plans include offering a greater volume and variety of products in the coming years.
